Happy New Year!
December had been a very busy month for me. There is firstly preparation for Christmas, starting up my own little business venture Simple Joy Crafts, and last but not least, Ototo-san's wedding.
Oka-san had bought gifts to be presented to the bride during the tea ceremony, but she needs to put it inside a nice box. I know it is very difficult to find a gift box for a Chinese wedding so I decided to make one for her instead.
What you need :
Mod Podge
1 cardboard box. I got mine from Daiso for RM5.
Wrapping paper or printed paper. I got my printed paper from Moof

1. Arrange the box cover over the printed paper/wrapping paper, and draw an outline on the paper itself. Add 2cm more to each side.
2. Cut out the paper according to the drawn-out shape.
3. Apply Mod Podge to the paper and spreading it out evenly.
4. Carefully put the box cover onto the paper and press firmly so it sticks. Use a ruler to spread out air bubbles that may be trapped underneath the surface. I start from the middle section of the box cover, and worked my way right to the corner of the box cover.
5. For the corners, fold each corner into the box cover and seal with Mod Podge.
6. Trim any excess edges that may be sticking out from the box.
7. Repeat the same for the box base.
While I could not get any Chinese Wedding-type of printed paper, I still think it is the closet I can get with the red/flowers pattern. I really hope the bride likes the box too!
